I got this email today and it was so positive and intelligently written, I had to post it on my Blog.

Dr. James M. Wendling and his Group offer a great deal of Wisdom, go check them out.

28 Ways to Stop Complicating Your Life

Starting today…

1.Stop berating yourself for being a work in progress. – Start embracing it!  Because being a work in progress doesn’t mean you’re not good enough today.  It means you want a better tomorrow, and you wish to love yourself completely, so you can live your life fully.  It means you’re determined to heal your heart, expand your mind and cultivate the gifts you know you’re meant to share. May we all be works in progress forever, and celebrate the fact that we are!

2.Stop doing immoral things simply because you can. – Start being honest with yourself and everyone else.  Don’t cheat.  Be faithful.  Be kind.  Do the right thing!  It is a less complicated way to live.  Integrity is the essence of everything successful.  When you break the rules of integrity you invite serious complications into your life.  Keep life simple and enjoyable by doing what you know in your heart is right.

3.Stop meaning what you don’t say. – Start communicating clearly.  Don’t try to read other people’s minds, and don’t make other people try to read yours.  Most problems, big and small, within a family, friendship, or business relationship, start with bad communication.  Someone isn’t being clear.

4.Stop wasting time and money trying to acquire more of everything. – Start focusing on quality.  High quality is worth more than any quantity, in possessions, friends and experiences.  Truly ‘rich’ people need less to be happy.  Live a comfortable life, not a wasteful one.  Too many people buy things they don’t need with money they don’t have to impress people they don’t know.  Do not spend to impress others.  Do not live life trying to fool yourself into thinking wealth is measured in material objects.  Manage your money wisely so your money does not manage you.  Read The Millionaire Next Door.

5.Stop spending time with negative people. – Start spending time with nice people who are smart, driven and likeminded.  Relationships should help you, not hurt you.  Surround yourself with people who reflect the person you want to be.  Choose friends who you are proud to know, people you admire, who love and respect you – people who make your day a little brighter simply by being in it.  Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you.  When you free yourself of negative people, you free yourself to be YOU – and being YOU is the simplest way to live.

6.Stop trying to change people. – Start accepting people just the way they are.  In most cases it’s impossible to change them anyway, and it’s rude to try.  So save yourself from needless stress.  Instead of trying to change others, give them your support and lead by example.

7.Stop being lazy and cutting corners. – Start avoiding future headaches by doing things right the first time.  Always put your best foot forward.  Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.  Why give less than 100%?  Life is too short to waste it by living below your full potential.  If something is worth doing, then it’s worth doing well.

8.Stop procrastinating. – Start taking action and making changes.  Action and change are often resisted when they’re needed most.  Get a hold of yourself and have discipline.  Discipline is choosing what you really want over what you want right now.  Putting something off makes it instantly harder and scarier.  What we don’t start today won’t be finished by tomorrow.  And there’s nothing more stressful than the perpetual lingering of an unfinished task.

9.Stop worrying and complaining. – Start focusing on the things you can control and do something about them.  Those who complain the most accomplish the least.  And when you spend time worrying, you’re simply using your imagination to create things you don’t want.  It’s usually only as good or bad as you think it is.

10.Stop being dramatic. – Start spending less time gossiping about problems and more time helping yourself and others solve them.  Stay out of people’s needless drama and don’t create your own.

11.Stop trying to be everything to everyone. – Start focusing on being everything to someone.  Helping or pleasing everyone is impossible.  But making one person smile can change the world.  Maybe not the whole world, but their world.  So narrow your focus and be yourself.

12.Stop making promises you can’t keep. – Starting under-promising and over-delivering on everything you do.  Period.

13.Stop blaming others. – Start accepting responsibility for everything in your life.  Blaming others accomplishes nothing and prolongs the complications you’re facing.  Either you own your problems, or they will own you.  Your choice.  When you blame others for what you’re going through, you deny responsibility – you give up your power over that part of your life.

14.Stop reacting without a plan. – Start planning and working toward specific goals.  Make a list of your top 3 – 5 goals.  What’s most important to you?  What do you value most?  What 3 – 5 things do you most want to do in your life?  Simplifying your life starts with these priorities, as you are trying to make room in your life so you have more time for these things.  Having a plan, even a flawed one at first, is better than no plan at all.  There is good reason why you should wake each morning and mindfully consider what and who you will give your day to: Because unlike other things in life – love, money, respect, good health, hope, opportunities, etc. – time is the one thing you can never get back once it’s gone.

15.Stop confusing ‘being busy’ with ‘being productive.’ – Start tracking and measuring your progress.  Being busy and being productive are two very different things.  Results are more important than the time it takes to achieve them.

16.Stop over-committing and trying to do too much at once. – Start saying “no” more often.  If you never say “no,” you will take on too much and get nothing accomplished.  In the beginning, you need to say “yes” to a lot of things to discover and establish your goals.  Later on, you need to say “no” to a lot of things and concentrate on your goals.  Once your goals are established, focus on doing one thing at a time and doing it well.  Also, leave space around commitments in your day.  Whether you have appointments, or things you need to do, don’t stack them back-to-back.  Leave a little space between things you need to do, so you will have room for contingencies, and you’ll go through your day much more relaxed.

17.Stop being inefficient simply because you’ve always done it that way. – Start opening your mind to making positive changes.  If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.  Many times we live with unplanned, complex systems in our lives simply because we haven’t given them much thought.  Instead, streamline your life by finding better ways of handling common tasks.  Focus on one system at a time (your cleaning system, your errands system, your paperwork system, your email system, etc.) and try to make it simplified, efficient, and logical.  Then, once you have it perfected, stick to it.  Read Getting Things Done and The Power of Less.

18.Stop cluttering your space. – Start clearing clutter.  Get rid of stuff you don’t use and then organize what’s left.  If you have a cluttered living or working space, it can be distracting and stressful.  A clear space is like a blank canvas, available to be used to create something great.  Getting truly organized and clutter-free can vastly improve anyone’s life.

19.Stop overloading your mind by consuming useless information. – Start unsubscribing from useless e-lists and news feeds, and keep the TV off.  Limit your time on Facebook, Twitter, CNN.com and your other favorite websites, etc.

20.Stop obsessing over the past and future. – Start being present. Paying more attention to the current moment can make a huge difference in simplifying your life.  It keeps you aware of life, of what’s going on around you and within you.  It does wonders for your sanity and stress levels.

21.Stop waiting for things to be perfect. – Start thinking of how many things don’t get done in this world simply because people are waiting for the perfect time, place and circumstance.  If you’re waiting for the perfect conditions, ideas or plans to get started, you’ll never achieve anything.  A good idea without action is nothing at all.  Keep it simple and just start.  Focus on the next positive step forward.

22.Stop focusing so much energy on trying to avoid mistakes. – Start learning from your mistakes, then smile and move on.  No matter how smart you are, you will make mistakes.  Trying to avoid them will only waste time and complicate your life.  There is a lesson in every mistake you make, and learning the lesson is how you move forward.

23.Stop making emotional decisions. – Start taking a few steps back so you can think things through.  When you’re caught up in the moment and your emotions are soaring, you’re bound to make poor decisions that will lead to needless complications.  The best advice here is simple:  Don’t let your emotions trump your intelligence.  Slow down and think things through before you make any big decisions.

24.Stop being unhealthy. – Start taking care of your body.  Start sleeping eight hours every night.  A tired, malnourished mind is over-stressed and rarely productive.  Your health is your life, don’t let it go.  Eat right, exercise and get an annual physical check-up.  The The 4-Hour Body is an insightful and entertaining read on this topic.

25.Stop holding on to intimate relationships that make you unhappy. – Start looking out for yourself when it comes to intimate relationships.  It’s better to WAIT, and give your hand to someone who will never let go, rather than holding on to the outside of a hand that has never fully opened for you.  If someone wants you in their life, they’ll make room for you.  You shouldn’t have to fight for a spot.  Never, ever insist yourself to someone who continuously overlooks your worth.  Remember, anyone can come into your life and say how much they love you.  But it takes someone really special to stay in your life and show you how much they love you.  So slow it down.  True love is worth the wait.

26.Stop holding on to hate. – Starting letting hate go!  Keep your sights set on the future.  Holding on to hate and anger is like grasping hot coals with the intent of throwing them at someone else – you are the one who gets burned.  If you want to forget someone, and move on, you must give up hating them.  It’s hard to forget someone you hate, because hate takes pieces of your heart – thereby keeping this person within your heart.  If you want to forget them, let go of the hate, and create peace in your heart instead.  Also, remember that whenever you hate something, it usually hates you back: people, situations, and inanimate objects alike; which will only further complicate your life.

27.Stop pretending like you know everything. – Start accepting the fact that there’s a lot you don’t know.  Nobody has it all figured out.  Nobody knows more than a minuscule fraction of what’s going on in the world.  Why?  Because the world is simply way too vast for any one person to know everything well.  And most of what we see is only what we think about what we see.  The sooner you accept this, the sooner you will stop making the same unnecessary mistakes, and the sooner new doors of opportunity will open in your life.

28.Stop giving what you don’t want to receive. – Start practicing the golden rule.  If you want love, give love.  If you want friends, be friendly.  If you want money, provide value.  It works.  It really is this simple.

Why Is the Story About Malia Obama Vacationing in Mexico Disappearing from the Web?

Also, Why are the American people paying for 25 Secret Service Agents to go to Mexico for a 13 year olds Spring Break?

It must be costing the American Taxpayer well over $1 Million to let this kid go to Mexico while many tax paying Americans are having ‘Stay-cations” at home this year to lack of income, over taxation and the cost of gasoline?  Isn’t this a bit disrespectful? Especially after the first lady’s many multimillion dollar vacations? I’m just saying….

Richard Uzelac

UPDATE: The Administration has just responded to the disappearing stories.

Read it here.

Have you heard that Malia Obama, the president’s daughter, is reportedly spending her spring break in Oaxaca, Mexico? Allegedly, she’s jetting off with some of her classmates and 25 Secret Service agents to a country that the State Department has said all Americans should avoid. But something is different about the latest “Obama vacation controversy:” references to it are disappearing from the Internet — and fast.

Around 3:00 EST, a Telegraph story reporting on the event was the first to vanish (note how the url remains the same in the “before” and “after”):

Malia Obama Oaxaca, Mexico Vacation Story Disappearing from the WebBefore

Malia Obama Oaxaca, Mexico Vacation Story Disappearing from the WebAfter

Then, the related Huffington Post article was found to be linking back to a completely unrelated Yahoo News page titled “Senegal Music Star Youssou Ndour Hits Campaign Trail.”

The Huffington Post article:

Malia Obama Oaxaca, Mexico Vacation Story Disappearing from the Web

Links to this site:

Malia Obama Oaxaca, Mexico Vacation Story Disappearing from the Web

The Yahoo News story that HuffPo links to makes no mention of Malia Obama or her Mexican vacation. This raises two possibilities: either HuffPo has made an error in its link, or Yahoo has also removed its “Malia in Mexico” story. The latter more likely considering that the “-obamas-daughter-spends-springbreak-in-Mexico” url is still present in the Yahoo story.

And now, the link to the Huffington Post article on Google redirects to the site’s main page; the page itself is gone.

In addition to larger news organizations, smaller sites are also removing their stories.

Free Republic removed a related discussion thread:

Malia Obama Oaxaca, Mexico Vacation Story Disappearing from the Web

And “Global Grind” removed its related article:

Malia Obama Oaxaca, Mexico Vacation Story Disappearing from the Web

Of these sites, the only one to state a reason for the change was “Free Republic,“ where the Admin wrote ”Leave the kids alone.”

So that raises the question: Why were all of these sites taken down? Is the story false? Were they removed for security reasons?

Consider that the story still lives (as of this publication)* on the site of The Australian, which uses a story from the well-respected AFP (a sort of Associated Press for France):

Malia Obama Oaxaca, Mexico Vacation Story Disappearing from the Web

So far, no outlets have explained why the stories have been removed. It will be interesting to see if they do.

The Blaze’s Jonathon M. Seidl contributed to this report.

*The Australian has since removed its article.

UPDATE:

Buzzfeed is now reporting that it is a “long tradition” not to report on presidential kids’ vacation plans, citing this as the possible reason for the many unexplained retractions.

If this is the case, it still raises questions as to why Malia was allowed to vacation in a country that the State Department recommends no American travels to.

Neither AFP nor the White House responded to Buzzfeed’s request for comment.

UPDATE II:

The Montreal Gazette has now posted the story of the vacation. It’s one of the only sites that is reporting on it. Interestingly, the story is actually attributed to the AFP (mentioned above). You can read it here.

A Dear friend just sent this to me, so simple, so powerful:

Hello, this is something I have felt compelled to write for some time and so I finally did.  Please take a moment to read this message and contemplate the magnitude of the impact you can make.

Our political system is completely corrupt, manipulated by career politicians and special interest money.  The sole purpose of these career politicians is to keep themselves in office, while enriching their personal wealth and that of the special interests who put (and keep) them there.  As long as special interest money continues to flow through Washington, things will never change.  And as long as the foxes are guarding the hen-house, you can rest assured the inflow of money will not stop.  Every once in a while some legislation is written to give the impression that something is being done, but don’t be fooled, this is mere window dressing.  Loop-holes are always embedded within the thousands of pages of legalese to ensure that the money can legally continue to flow in.

We have the power and we can change this country now – simply vote every incumbent out of office this November.  There is no liberal or conservative bias here, only a non-partisan grass-roots effort to reclaim our country.  There are a number of extremely powerful men and women in Congress who control how all their less senior colleagues vote.  I’m sure that after every election there is a batch of freshman who arrive in Washington with good intentions but learn very quickly that if they oppose the power structure (those career politicians and special interests), they will be marginalized and voted out of office after their first term; and so they sell their souls to the devil in the interest of self-preservation.

Just imagine, with a whole new political body of equals (President, Congress, Governors, Mayors etc.), the chains will be removed and wheels will be set in motion for true change.

I’m begging you to please consider this simple approach to taking our country back.  There is no other way – except revolution.  How many more years of rhetoric and partisan politics do we need to go through before we realize nothing is ever going to change.  If you believe your representatives are actually interested in your best interests over theirs, you are sadly mistaken.

I would love nothing more than to see this email reach every inbox in America.  If you are happy with the current political system, then delete this email.  However, if you feel like I do, please take the time to forward this to everyone you know.  If we continue to be a society of complacent sheep, then we deserve exactly what we get.

I have included an incredibly insightful article below from 1787 that offers a sobering perspective on the state of our democracy.

THE FALL OF THE ATHENIAN REPUBLIC
Historic | 1787 | Alexander Tyler

At about the time our original 13 states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler – a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh – had this to say about “The Fall of the Athenian Republic” some 2,000 years prior:

THE FALL OF THE ATHENIAN REPUBLIC… “A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”

“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance, From abundance to complacency; From complacency to apathy, From apathy to dependence, From dependence back into bondage.”

United States Soon to have Highest Corporate Tax Rate in the World

Hi Friends,

I came across this article in the www.AmericansForTaxReform.com website by way of the www.DrudgReport.com  website. I just had to copy and paste it into my blog.  I don’t usually do this but I am including for attribution and linkbacks so I think it’s fine with all.

One Month to Go Until We Have the World’s Highest Corporate Tax Rate

Just one month from today, the United States will have the highest corporate income tax rate in the developed world, surpassing Japan.

CLICK HERE to join the fight to stop Obama’s out of control massive tax and spend agenda.

Just one month from today, Japan will lower their corporate income tax rate from 39.5 to 35 percent.  When they do so, the United States will officially have the dubious distinction of possessing the highest corporate income tax rate in the developed world, a federal/state integrated rate of 39.2 percent.

To put that in perspective, the average in the developed world (OECD) is only 25 percent.  Our six major trading partners–Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, and France–will all have a lower rate than we will have.  As a result, capital and jobs will continue to flow overseas, rather than staying here to create jobs, increase wages, fund pensions, invest in new business, or grow nest eggs.

Country Corporate Income Tax Rate
United States 39.2%
OECD Average 25%
Canada 27.6%
Mexico 30%
Japan 35%
Germany 30.2%
France 34.4%

President Obama last month proposed a plan to raise net taxes, but in the process lower the U.S. corporate rate to about 32 percent.  That simply isn’t worth it.  In exchange for a jobs-killing net tax hike, the Obama plan would still leave us with a tax rate higher than the OECD average, and higher than all our major trading partners except Japan and France.  No thanks, Mr. President.

Can you feel it? Can you feel a more active and politically aware and rational populace awakening? The power hungry and the power brokers can put the players in place, but finally I feel an American People are awakening with eyes wide open. I think the politicians and Big Banking sees it too. So, even if the powers that be shoehorn another puppet into place, that puppet better beware. The American People are fed up with the Fed. The time is ripe for a government by the people, for the people and of the people.

I am reticent to use the word ‘People’ as for my generation it speaks of ‘Red’ and ‘Communism’ and ‘Collective.’ That is the furthest meaning I want to instill. My ‘People’ are an intelligent and vocal formation of INDIVIDUALS that want to see change for their own vested interests. The people that create the businesses that drive the American and world economies and the hard working people they employ are the ‘People’ I speak of. These are the true creators in society.

Morton Friedman once said only businesses create jobs, create wealth and move the society forward. I believe he is right. If you haven’t read anything about Morton Friedman, I suggest you do, it is worth the effort. If these ‘People’ that create wealth and work hard for their own interest band together, no matter who is elected, that person will be held accountable and he will need to do the ‘People’s’ bidding if he wants to stay in office.

Who are not the ‘People’? Some, not all, are those that live off the backs of the true workers in society, Unions and their leaders, those on welfare because they lack the courage to work, the Government employees that work the system and offer little to no value to the ‘People’ that pay their inflated bloated salaries.

I worry less these days the the parasites in society (Looters)will prevail and continue to support puppets like Obama and most of Congress. The ‘People’ will be heard and the creators of wealth and the workers that want to do best for themselves and their families will not let the Looters prevail. And even if they do, if Obama is reelected and our debt to our children grows over $20,000,000,000,000, their system is not sustainable, and after it all collapses, the Creators and the People will start over once again to rebuild a glorious and righteous nation.

Joe Paterno: American Icon, American Hero, made a mistake?

Support Joe Paterno

Note: The whole situation causes vertigo, makes one nauseous. The hurt is the bigger story, the tragedy for the families and children. This post is way way way down there in importance compared to the horror of what took place. This post only talks about an old man.
——————————————————————-

An Ohio State Buckeye friend wrote to me today. “It’s a shame what they are doing to Joe PA.”

I agree. 84 years of integrity and people want to hang the old man.

My take:

He’s a coach. He follows the rules.

He reported it. He knew there was an ongoing investigation. He thought it was being handled, he was told it was being handled.

It’s not in that generation to second guess the line of command.

What’s he supposed to do? Become a cop? A private citizen trying to get to the ‘bottom of things’ like in a cheap movie after he told his superiors about the ex-coach Sandusky?

What about the human factor? He worked with Sandusky, built Penn State with the guy for thirty years and he hears this? Wouldn’t that shock you to the core? Wasn’t Joe in shock?

He must have heard about the prior complaints after this happened and that there was an investigation ongoing. What was he to do? Wouldn’t anyone assume the poor child was attended to?

Joe’s a coach. A single minded driven entity. Most wins in history. You don’t get that type of single minded success being the most well rounded human. He probably just turned it off after reporting it and went back to Penn State football and the next game, just like he wanted to this week.

What gets me are all the losers pointing their crooked fingers at the great man and trying to dance on his misery and burn him at the stake. I guess it takes them out of the reality of their failed lives for a while and makes them feel superior for once in their lives. Good for them. Good for the mob.

Did he make the best decision on the matter? No. He should have assumed his bosses wouldn’t call the police and that they would try to cover it up. He should have assumed gross incompetence and criminal acts from his bosses.
He should have got a Colombo coat and ‘sniffed around for clues.’ But he didn’t, he’s not perfect, who is?

Nope, he’s just an old coach that loves Penn State football and he assumed too much and put his head down and went about his business.

Surprisingly Refreshing Comment From Jin Liqun, Chairman of Chinese Wealth Fund, by Richard Uzelac

Posted by Uzelac | Posted in Al Jazeera, Ayn Rand, China, European Union | Posted on 07-11-2011

The last website you can expect me to be spending time on is AlJazeera.net and possibly the last person I’m willing to read about is a Communist Wealth Fund Chairman, but…
whether it’s a case of ‘keeping the enemy close’ or just plain curiosity, I found myself watching and reading about the video below.

In the clip Jin Liqun simply but surprisingly states the obvious: the Euro-Union is unfair and doesn’t work.

He states and example where some Euro members have to work hard until they are 65 where other members in other countries stop work at 55 to enjoy a life of leisure. The inequity of the situation that allows some to retire early in one country while in another country, the members have to continue working to support and pay for the early retirees is a simple microcosm of the world order today: This is why it’s all falling apart.

Jin Liqun goes on to point out the obvious (at least to him and Richard Uzelac) that allowing some to live off the government dole while others toil away to pay for it all, breeds, ‘sloth and laziness’ in the early retiree countries. Duh. But God Bless you Jin Liqun. I still have no trust for Al Jazeera’s motives.

So Atlas is Shrugging in Europe, while the idiots at Occupy are pointing their crooked fingers at the ‘Rich’ who create the jobs and move our country forward. Hmmmmm, but that’s another story.

I realize that is a pretty strong headline, but I believe it is true. There is no doubt in my mind that Obama is doing the best that he can. I also believe he thinks what he is doing is the best for America.

But I also believe he does not have the wisdom, education, experience, and knowledge required to run the most powerful country on earth.

The bigger issue here is not Obama, it is rather the Americans that voted him in. What happened to us? What happened to Americans, once so proud and innovative, now so affected, entitled, weak?

Never before in our great country’s history has over 50% of its citizens either lived off of, or are paid by the government for employment. That’s happening now. Most Americans are on the government dole in some way or another. The most memorable image I have of Obama winning the election was an ecstatic woman jumping up and down screaming, “Now I don’t have to pay my mortgage! Now I don’t have to pay my mortgage! have to pay my mortgage! Obama saved me my money!”

These Americans are the same ones with their hands out for ‘free’ life. Free from work, free from responsibility, free from effort, free from sacrifice of the immediate, free from thought.

All the Americans that built this great country of ours: Individuals, Corporations, and private groups are now considered the villains in a “dumbed down” America. The great Individuals and Companies that create jobs and wealth are vilified on two fronts: On one side by a childish population of entitlement, on the other side by Leftist/Socialist Elitists that think they are smarter and more enlightened than the creators of jobs and wealth.

This leftist elitist group feels the only true vision for the future in America is theirs and theirs alone. Since they are too busy deciding what is best for all of us to make any money or build anything of their own effort, these Looters decide it is best to simply take the money they need from us workers (taxes, fees, regulation) and use it to satisfy their own personal vision of Utopia with them on the throne.

OK, that was a bit mellow dramatic but hey, it’s a one pass blog and I have a business to run. 🙂

So, coming back to Obama. Obama grew up in a world that said, “We are underprivileged, and the government OWES US a living.” See Acorn and other organizations that molded this man.

Is Obama a bad person? No, I don’t think so. I think he’s bright, well spoken and gifted. He’s just a product of his socialist environment. He doesn’t understand the real America, the America of Individualism and Achievement. He’s just not the right man to run this country.

God Bless America!
