Reading Dr. Wayne Dyer’s: Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao.

Richard Uzelac on Tao, Buddha, and Jesus Christ

Pukua with frame by Benoit Stella alias BenduKiwi

Actually my wife and I read it every morning with coffee, then we try to apply what we read during the day. It has become a tradition. we are on the 36th chapter and thus 36 days in a row of doing this.

There is something nice about doing something like this with Alexandra. It is a tradition and a habit now. Just that is a blessing of sorts.

Back to the book, the book is very thought provoking for both of us. It is about the Tao written 25 centuries ago by Lao Tzu, at least the version mentioned in the book. The Tao, from what I gather, is the natural flow of the universe. Taoism I believe sees the natural flow actually flowing through all humans. When we act in accordance with the Tao, all is well, it is as it should be. When we apply restrictions to it and try to control it, then all sorts of issues erupt. So the main thrust is to be ‘In the Tao’ and flow through life.

The ‘Curiously Familiar’ aspect of the Tao is that this Tao is in all of us, that we are born of the Tao, and we go to the Tao upon death. This reminds me, as a Christian, a believer in Christ, of his most profound statement to me, “The Kingdom of God is within You.” I always loved this statement. It means so much to me. It takes the power out of the hands of the Churches, Priests, Popes, et al, and puts it in your hands. God, Heaven, it is all within all of us. We all know what is right, what is correct. It is deep within our being our cells, atoms. We simply need to open ourselves up to God and let it flow through us.

I see this ‘flowing naturally’ in Buddhism, and it’s probably in dozens of other Religions and Teachings as well. The ‘Curiously Familiar’ line of continuity here gives me hope we are all on this path together and there is hope for us all, someday.

Just noticed that the stick market has been up for this past year, 2013, better than it has been in a single year in almost 20 years! Why is that? What’s going on? You got me. I have no idea why it is so much better. Maybe whatever the government is doing, is working? Maybe there is a Bi-Partisan effort in Capital Hill that is slowly cooperating for the benefit of our economy.

A couple of Richard Uzelac’s Unauthorized Guesses:

1. Companies have parred their staff down due to the recession and are now lean and mean and able to make a true profit.

2. The real estate market has taken a big hit but seems back on a roll and that is fueling the economy.

3. The Obama Administration is letting business do it’s thing and the results are positive.

4. Small companies like mine have cut expenses as much as possible and are able to hire people again. We’ve recently brought on an Intern, converted him to part time, then just converted him to full time.

5. Macro Economic forces are simply going through their cycles and the time to buy and reinvest is upon us.

Richard Uzelac’s Prediction: 2014 will be a great year! Small business ‘finds a way’ to make a profit and keep their doors open. Expectations are smaller these days and keeping the doors open and the people employed is a big win, at least it is for this business owner!

God Bless America!

We need to save the elephants to help evolve and enlightened humans. We need to save them for future generations of humans, and of elephants. We need to save them because we can.

Elephants are the largest surviving land mammals on the planet. They are the largest species on earth since  the  Indricotherium.

Alas, the Indricotherium’s huge 18 ton mass will never be seen by another human. The Humans of their time just didn’t have the tools to do anything but kill them. While it is obvious that we have become better killers in the last 25 million years, have we grown as humans?

There’s a group that have consistently helped the plight of the African Elephants: Save the Elephants   http://www.savetheelephants.org/ and their new site: Elephants in Peril:  http://www.elephantsinperil.org/

Helping this cause won’t make you richer or cooler, but you will get a bucket load of good Karma to offset all the wrong things you did.

Cheers, Richard Uzelac

Richard Uzelac BlogOK,  I’ll admit I was a bit in shock when President Obama was re-elected. From all I understood about America, Capitalism and free enterprise, Obama wasn’t the man for the job. So now what do I do? Bellyache? Whine? Point fingers at others?

Well, maybe I did a bit of that. But after a while we all as American’s must bow to the will of the people, and the will of the people elected their representative: Barack Obama.

So where does that leave all of the rest of us that didn’t vote for him?

We move on.

We are still all the creators of our dreams. We are still individuals that can make our dreams come true in what is still the greatest country on Earth.

So conservatives, go and make a profit in this brave new world. There are those that say it is now easier to be financially successful in Obama’s America. With so many on the government dole, so many employed by the government, it leaves free enterprise a somewhat uncrowded space for the next bright entrepreneur. Think about it.

In 1979 I took a bus from the east coast to the west coast in the winter. Once I got there I hitchhiked around Southern California. An older gent in a new Lincoln MK5 Bill Blass Edition (ok, I know cars.) picked me up one day. It was the nicest car I had ever been in. The guy was a success. He had started two magazines: Skateboarder and Surfing magazines, or ones of similar names. He told me something I never forgot. He said, “Richard, come out here to California and make whatever you want out of your life. If you can just keep away from drugs and alcohol and apply yourself, you will be a success.”  He went on to say most of the youth in California were lazy goofballs that failed to create a plan and focus on success. He said if I did that, I would be a success. You know what, he was right.

Flash forward to 2012 and I say the same to all of you young people and not so young people out there. With so many focused on entitlements and handouts these days, your competition is much less. Your opportunities are vast.

So go forward and prosper Conservatives. Uphold your own values and create your own lives. Be a beacon by example for the misguided masses. May your life prove your values.

Richard Uzelac’s Take on the Election: Vote for Romney/Ryan, they understand Capitalism. Obama wants Socialism

As we wind down the election process and head down the final straight to pick our next President, I have decided to give my pick.

Romney/Ryan

Why? They understand business. They respect small business. Romney knows the only way for a Capitalist country to survive is to build up businesses so that they can hirer more people and build up their employees so that those employees can pay taxes to help fund the Federal, State, Local governments. Done, end of story.

Socialism doesn’t work. It is watered down Communism. It robs Americans of the will to work, the will to succeed, the will to truly live.  Squeezing the 50% of Americans that pay taxes for even more taxes, not only is unjust, it builds a divide, a resentment between the Earners and the Burners in America. I fear this may be a violent issue someday if we continue toward Socialism as Obama is doing.

But what about the Poor? First, there will always be Poor in any society. Stop believing that everyone is equal and that everyone is well adjusted and capable of success. It is not true. Some people wouldn’t succeed if you gave them a million dollars, a paid house, cars, education, everything! They’d still manage to mess it all up and end up back on welfare or the streets.  Does this mean us Capitalist just ignore them? No, I don’t feel that way. I help the poor and needy with charity and donations. Most well adjusted people with any kind of monetary success do the same. We are all free to do the right thing and help our fellow man.

But what about minorities? Don’t they deserve Affirmative action, Welfare, a leg up? No. In a free society all men and women have opportunity. The problem with the Welfare, Affirmative action mindset is it accomplishes the exact opposite of what it portends to do: Raise people up. These programs just continue the stereotypes and promotes the less motivated to become even less motivated at bettering themselves.

War: War is hell. We should only go to war if we are threatened by Evil. I believe we never build friendships by going to countries, taking them over and then trying to be their buddies. If a man’s father was killed in that war by the USA, that man will grow up hating the USA, no matter how many ‘good’ things we do for that country. I think we should pull out of Afghanistan and concentrate on our own country for a while.

Deficit: This is a long journey, long after Romney’s 8 years in office, the deficit will remain, but if there is reduction along the way, if it is going better for us and is being reduced, that will give Americans hope and it will be true change.

New World Order: Of course there are powerful people in the world that want the USA cut down to size, Obama included. He’d like this proud country on an even playing field with Belgium, France, Spain, and Greece. They’d like all of us workers making less with less freedoms looking up at the Federal Government for all our needs. These people of power can be stopped however, by vocal and active true Patriotic Americans willing to vote and be civilly active to preserve our great Union.

Regardless of who we elect, Americans must unite and let our elected officials know we still cherish the values and work ethic that made this country great.

I got this email today and it was so positive and intelligently written, I had to post it on my Blog.

Dr. James M. Wendling and his Group offer a great deal of Wisdom, go check them out.

28 Ways to Stop Complicating Your Life

Starting today…

1.Stop berating yourself for being a work in progress. – Start embracing it!  Because being a work in progress doesn’t mean you’re not good enough today.  It means you want a better tomorrow, and you wish to love yourself completely, so you can live your life fully.  It means you’re determined to heal your heart, expand your mind and cultivate the gifts you know you’re meant to share. May we all be works in progress forever, and celebrate the fact that we are!

2.Stop doing immoral things simply because you can. – Start being honest with yourself and everyone else.  Don’t cheat.  Be faithful.  Be kind.  Do the right thing!  It is a less complicated way to live.  Integrity is the essence of everything successful.  When you break the rules of integrity you invite serious complications into your life.  Keep life simple and enjoyable by doing what you know in your heart is right.

3.Stop meaning what you don’t say. – Start communicating clearly.  Don’t try to read other people’s minds, and don’t make other people try to read yours.  Most problems, big and small, within a family, friendship, or business relationship, start with bad communication.  Someone isn’t being clear.

4.Stop wasting time and money trying to acquire more of everything. – Start focusing on quality.  High quality is worth more than any quantity, in possessions, friends and experiences.  Truly ‘rich’ people need less to be happy.  Live a comfortable life, not a wasteful one.  Too many people buy things they don’t need with money they don’t have to impress people they don’t know.  Do not spend to impress others.  Do not live life trying to fool yourself into thinking wealth is measured in material objects.  Manage your money wisely so your money does not manage you.  Read The Millionaire Next Door.

5.Stop spending time with negative people. – Start spending time with nice people who are smart, driven and likeminded.  Relationships should help you, not hurt you.  Surround yourself with people who reflect the person you want to be.  Choose friends who you are proud to know, people you admire, who love and respect you – people who make your day a little brighter simply by being in it.  Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you.  When you free yourself of negative people, you free yourself to be YOU – and being YOU is the simplest way to live.

6.Stop trying to change people. – Start accepting people just the way they are.  In most cases it’s impossible to change them anyway, and it’s rude to try.  So save yourself from needless stress.  Instead of trying to change others, give them your support and lead by example.

7.Stop being lazy and cutting corners. – Start avoiding future headaches by doing things right the first time.  Always put your best foot forward.  Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.  Why give less than 100%?  Life is too short to waste it by living below your full potential.  If something is worth doing, then it’s worth doing well.

8.Stop procrastinating. – Start taking action and making changes.  Action and change are often resisted when they’re needed most.  Get a hold of yourself and have discipline.  Discipline is choosing what you really want over what you want right now.  Putting something off makes it instantly harder and scarier.  What we don’t start today won’t be finished by tomorrow.  And there’s nothing more stressful than the perpetual lingering of an unfinished task.

9.Stop worrying and complaining. – Start focusing on the things you can control and do something about them.  Those who complain the most accomplish the least.  And when you spend time worrying, you’re simply using your imagination to create things you don’t want.  It’s usually only as good or bad as you think it is.

10.Stop being dramatic. – Start spending less time gossiping about problems and more time helping yourself and others solve them.  Stay out of people’s needless drama and don’t create your own.

11.Stop trying to be everything to everyone. – Start focusing on being everything to someone.  Helping or pleasing everyone is impossible.  But making one person smile can change the world.  Maybe not the whole world, but their world.  So narrow your focus and be yourself.

12.Stop making promises you can’t keep. – Starting under-promising and over-delivering on everything you do.  Period.

13.Stop blaming others. – Start accepting responsibility for everything in your life.  Blaming others accomplishes nothing and prolongs the complications you’re facing.  Either you own your problems, or they will own you.  Your choice.  When you blame others for what you’re going through, you deny responsibility – you give up your power over that part of your life.

14.Stop reacting without a plan. – Start planning and working toward specific goals.  Make a list of your top 3 – 5 goals.  What’s most important to you?  What do you value most?  What 3 – 5 things do you most want to do in your life?  Simplifying your life starts with these priorities, as you are trying to make room in your life so you have more time for these things.  Having a plan, even a flawed one at first, is better than no plan at all.  There is good reason why you should wake each morning and mindfully consider what and who you will give your day to: Because unlike other things in life – love, money, respect, good health, hope, opportunities, etc. – time is the one thing you can never get back once it’s gone.

15.Stop confusing ‘being busy’ with ‘being productive.’ – Start tracking and measuring your progress.  Being busy and being productive are two very different things.  Results are more important than the time it takes to achieve them.

16.Stop over-committing and trying to do too much at once. – Start saying “no” more often.  If you never say “no,” you will take on too much and get nothing accomplished.  In the beginning, you need to say “yes” to a lot of things to discover and establish your goals.  Later on, you need to say “no” to a lot of things and concentrate on your goals.  Once your goals are established, focus on doing one thing at a time and doing it well.  Also, leave space around commitments in your day.  Whether you have appointments, or things you need to do, don’t stack them back-to-back.  Leave a little space between things you need to do, so you will have room for contingencies, and you’ll go through your day much more relaxed.

17.Stop being inefficient simply because you’ve always done it that way. – Start opening your mind to making positive changes.  If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.  Many times we live with unplanned, complex systems in our lives simply because we haven’t given them much thought.  Instead, streamline your life by finding better ways of handling common tasks.  Focus on one system at a time (your cleaning system, your errands system, your paperwork system, your email system, etc.) and try to make it simplified, efficient, and logical.  Then, once you have it perfected, stick to it.  Read Getting Things Done and The Power of Less.

18.Stop cluttering your space. – Start clearing clutter.  Get rid of stuff you don’t use and then organize what’s left.  If you have a cluttered living or working space, it can be distracting and stressful.  A clear space is like a blank canvas, available to be used to create something great.  Getting truly organized and clutter-free can vastly improve anyone’s life.

19.Stop overloading your mind by consuming useless information. – Start unsubscribing from useless e-lists and news feeds, and keep the TV off.  Limit your time on Facebook, Twitter, CNN.com and your other favorite websites, etc.

20.Stop obsessing over the past and future. – Start being present. Paying more attention to the current moment can make a huge difference in simplifying your life.  It keeps you aware of life, of what’s going on around you and within you.  It does wonders for your sanity and stress levels.

21.Stop waiting for things to be perfect. – Start thinking of how many things don’t get done in this world simply because people are waiting for the perfect time, place and circumstance.  If you’re waiting for the perfect conditions, ideas or plans to get started, you’ll never achieve anything.  A good idea without action is nothing at all.  Keep it simple and just start.  Focus on the next positive step forward.

22.Stop focusing so much energy on trying to avoid mistakes. – Start learning from your mistakes, then smile and move on.  No matter how smart you are, you will make mistakes.  Trying to avoid them will only waste time and complicate your life.  There is a lesson in every mistake you make, and learning the lesson is how you move forward.

23.Stop making emotional decisions. – Start taking a few steps back so you can think things through.  When you’re caught up in the moment and your emotions are soaring, you’re bound to make poor decisions that will lead to needless complications.  The best advice here is simple:  Don’t let your emotions trump your intelligence.  Slow down and think things through before you make any big decisions.

24.Stop being unhealthy. – Start taking care of your body.  Start sleeping eight hours every night.  A tired, malnourished mind is over-stressed and rarely productive.  Your health is your life, don’t let it go.  Eat right, exercise and get an annual physical check-up.  The The 4-Hour Body is an insightful and entertaining read on this topic.

25.Stop holding on to intimate relationships that make you unhappy. – Start looking out for yourself when it comes to intimate relationships.  It’s better to WAIT, and give your hand to someone who will never let go, rather than holding on to the outside of a hand that has never fully opened for you.  If someone wants you in their life, they’ll make room for you.  You shouldn’t have to fight for a spot.  Never, ever insist yourself to someone who continuously overlooks your worth.  Remember, anyone can come into your life and say how much they love you.  But it takes someone really special to stay in your life and show you how much they love you.  So slow it down.  True love is worth the wait.

26.Stop holding on to hate. – Starting letting hate go!  Keep your sights set on the future.  Holding on to hate and anger is like grasping hot coals with the intent of throwing them at someone else – you are the one who gets burned.  If you want to forget someone, and move on, you must give up hating them.  It’s hard to forget someone you hate, because hate takes pieces of your heart – thereby keeping this person within your heart.  If you want to forget them, let go of the hate, and create peace in your heart instead.  Also, remember that whenever you hate something, it usually hates you back: people, situations, and inanimate objects alike; which will only further complicate your life.

27.Stop pretending like you know everything. – Start accepting the fact that there’s a lot you don’t know.  Nobody has it all figured out.  Nobody knows more than a minuscule fraction of what’s going on in the world.  Why?  Because the world is simply way too vast for any one person to know everything well.  And most of what we see is only what we think about what we see.  The sooner you accept this, the sooner you will stop making the same unnecessary mistakes, and the sooner new doors of opportunity will open in your life.

28.Stop giving what you don’t want to receive. – Start practicing the golden rule.  If you want love, give love.  If you want friends, be friendly.  If you want money, provide value.  It works.  It really is this simple.

Make this a Positive Day…unless you’ve made other plans!

Hi Friends,

I came across this article in the www.AmericansForTaxReform.com website by way of the www.DrudgReport.com  website. I just had to copy and paste it into my blog.  I don’t usually do this but I am including for attribution and linkbacks so I think it’s fine with all.

One Month to Go Until We Have the World’s Highest Corporate Tax Rate

Just one month from today, the United States will have the highest corporate income tax rate in the developed world, surpassing Japan.

CLICK HERE to join the fight to stop Obama’s out of control massive tax and spend agenda.

Just one month from today, Japan will lower their corporate income tax rate from 39.5 to 35 percent.  When they do so, the United States will officially have the dubious distinction of possessing the highest corporate income tax rate in the developed world, a federal/state integrated rate of 39.2 percent.

To put that in perspective, the average in the developed world (OECD) is only 25 percent.  Our six major trading partners–Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, and France–will all have a lower rate than we will have.  As a result, capital and jobs will continue to flow overseas, rather than staying here to create jobs, increase wages, fund pensions, invest in new business, or grow nest eggs.

Country Corporate Income Tax Rate
United States 39.2%
OECD Average 25%
Canada 27.6%
Mexico 30%
Japan 35%
Germany 30.2%
France 34.4%

President Obama last month proposed a plan to raise net taxes, but in the process lower the U.S. corporate rate to about 32 percent.  That simply isn’t worth it.  In exchange for a jobs-killing net tax hike, the Obama plan would still leave us with a tax rate higher than the OECD average, and higher than all our major trading partners except Japan and France.  No thanks, Mr. President.

Can you feel it? Can you feel a more active and politically aware and rational populace awakening? The power hungry and the power brokers can put the players in place, but finally I feel an American People are awakening with eyes wide open. I think the politicians and Big Banking sees it too. So, even if the powers that be shoehorn another puppet into place, that puppet better beware. The American People are fed up with the Fed. The time is ripe for a government by the people, for the people and of the people.

I am reticent to use the word ‘People’ as for my generation it speaks of ‘Red’ and ‘Communism’ and ‘Collective.’ That is the furthest meaning I want to instill. My ‘People’ are an intelligent and vocal formation of INDIVIDUALS that want to see change for their own vested interests. The people that create the businesses that drive the American and world economies and the hard working people they employ are the ‘People’ I speak of. These are the true creators in society.

Morton Friedman once said only businesses create jobs, create wealth and move the society forward. I believe he is right. If you haven’t read anything about Morton Friedman, I suggest you do, it is worth the effort. If these ‘People’ that create wealth and work hard for their own interest band together, no matter who is elected, that person will be held accountable and he will need to do the ‘People’s’ bidding if he wants to stay in office.

Who are not the ‘People’? Some, not all, are those that live off the backs of the true workers in society, Unions and their leaders, those on welfare because they lack the courage to work, the Government employees that work the system and offer little to no value to the ‘People’ that pay their inflated bloated salaries.

I worry less these days the the parasites in society (Looters)will prevail and continue to support puppets like Obama and most of Congress. The ‘People’ will be heard and the creators of wealth and the workers that want to do best for themselves and their families will not let the Looters prevail. And even if they do, if Obama is reelected and our debt to our children grows over $20,000,000,000,000, their system is not sustainable, and after it all collapses, the Creators and the People will start over once again to rebuild a glorious and righteous nation.
